Layout overview
The dashboard is split into four zones — Balance summary, Trend chart, Quick actions and Alerts — followed by the bottom navigation bar.
Net balance card
The top card shows your live financial picture:
- Net balance — total income minus total expense for the selected period
- Cash in — total income (green)
- Cash out — total expense (red)
- Period filter — Today, This Week, This Month, This Year, or custom range
Trend chart
Below the balance card you'll see a daily / weekly / monthly bar chart of income vs. expense. Toggle the period at the top-right of the chart.
- Tap any bar to view the entries for that day or month
- Long-press to compare with the previous period
Quick-add & shortcuts v3
A floating Quick add button sits on every dashboard. Tap it and a sheet pops up with four big choices — pick what you want to enter and the right form opens.
Expense
Opens the expense entry sheet directly.
Income
Quickly log a salary, payment received or other income.
Invoice
Jump straight to the GST invoice creator (party optional for walk-ins).
Payment
Record a payment received or made — link to invoices later.
Walk-in & Misc tiles v3
When you have counter activity, the dashboard surfaces it without you having to open a report:
- Walk-in today — sum of today's walk-in invoice totals + count. Tap to drill into the Walk-in & Misc report.
- Unassigned payments — total + count of standalone payments that have no party (cash drawer, anonymous receipts).
- Both tiles only appear when the numbers are greater than zero — no clutter on quiet days.
Outstanding tile v3
The red overdue strip now shows your rolled-up outstanding amount. Tapping it opens Overdue Parties — every party with at least one overdue invoice, sorted by max days overdue.
- Each row shows the party, total outstanding, the worst days-overdue, and the number of overdue invoices
- One-tap WhatsApp reminder button per party — pre-filled in the user's language, with a UPI pay link if you've configured a VPA
- Tap a party row to open the full party history
Alerts & status panel
Just below the chart, you'll see live alerts:
- Overdue invoices — invoices past their due date (now drills into Overdue Parties)
- Low-stock items — anything below your threshold
- Budget warnings — categories that are about to overshoot the monthly limit
Home-screen widgets v3
You can pin Shahi Expense to your Android home screen — no need to open the app for the headline numbers.
Quick Add (4×1)
Four gradient buttons: Expense / Income / Invoice / Payment.
Today's Total (2×2)
Net cash, in / out, current date.
Outstanding (2×2)
Total dues + unpaid / overdue counts.
Walk-in Today (2×2)
Counter sales — total amount + invoice count.
Cash & Bank (4×2)
Primary cash and bank balances side by side.
Business Overview (4×2)
Income / Expense / Net + Invoiced / Received / Due — all in one tile.

Bottom navigation bar
The bottom bar gives you quick access to the five main areas:
- Home — this dashboard
- Cashbook — daily expense & income list
- Invoices — all sell invoices and PDFs
- Stock — items, ledger and low-stock alerts
- More — Reports, Tools, Settings, Backup
